Legoland California
By John Saras

If you are looking for the perfect vacation with young kids; than Legoland is a must on your list of tourist attractions in San Diego. I would even venture to say that it may even be better than a trip to Disneyland. Not that Disneyland isn't magical and wonderful and a memorable time for kids and adults; but on most days you will find yourself spending over half your time in the park; waiting in line.

This is why I prefer Legoland. I have taken many vacations to Legoland and I have never waited more than twenty minutes in line- ever! (Although, I have never been in the middle of summer vacation; I have talked to people who have and they have said the most they waited in line for ANY ride was thirty minutes). This really is important; because for those of us with small children; waiting in line is a big deal!

My family ventured to take a family vacation to San Diego and Legoland last January. There were fourteen of us in all (eight of which were children). We had an unbelievable time! I give Legoland all the credit! The park is amazing. There are impressive sculptures everywhere made entirely out of Legos. The interactive rides and displays throughout the park are completely entertaining for even the youngest of guests. The rides are thrilling and exciting! The food was delicious.

With eight children you think it would be hard to please all of them all the time. Not at Legoland. It is planned just for this. I was a bit concerned that our youngest companions (three two-year-olds) might be a little bored. I was so wrong! Legoland has done such an impressive job of providing activities for even this age guests. There are large walls to place giant legos all throughout the park. There are plenty of rides just their size. It really was a perfect day.

If you are planning to come to San Diego, and you have small children, make sure you visit Legoland. Bring your coupon on the back of the visitor guide "A Visitor's Guide to the Best of California" to save $5 of each ticket....and plan to have a great family time!
